Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)GPS Address: 8000 Essington Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19153. A larger international airport that is approximately a 3 hour drive from Montoursville. There are direct flights available from Denver-DEN and Chicago-ORD (among many others). Rental cars are available on-site.

Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport (AVP)GPS Address: 100 Terminal Drive, Avoca PA 18641. A small international airport that is approximately a 1 hour 30 minute drive from Montoursville. Non-stop flights available from Chicago-ORD. On-site car rental is available.*Note - if you have a connecting "flight" from AVP to PHL it will likely be a charter bus service, not an airplane.

Harrisburg International Airport (MDT)GPS Address: 510 Airport Drive, Middletown PA 17057. A mid-size international airport that is approximately a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Montoursville. Non-stop flights available from: Jacksonville FL, Dallas/Fort Worth, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago-O'Hare and Washington-Dulles. On-site car rental is available.

Transportation will be arranged for all guests staying at the listed hotel. Shuttle service will begin around 1600 and will operate continuously until the reception ends at 2230. Guests can also utilize the local shuttle provided by the hotel if desired.

A balance of elegance and comfort, sitting between casual and black-tie optional. No color requirements, wear whatever colors you feel best in.Women - Dresses that are knee-length, tea-length, or midi dress. Also acceptable would be: jumpsuits or dressy separates. *Note - weather can be unpredictable at this time of year, be sure to bring a wrap or sweater for when the sun goes down.Men - Dress pants and shirt. A tie and suit coat are optional.

We know that many people may be from out of town and are staying for more than a weekend. Ard's Farm

A week long, large, annual agricultural fair featuring rides, music, food, motorsports, and various agricultural exhibits. The fair is held in Bloomsburg PA; approximately a 45 minute drive from Montoursville or 35 minute drive from Shamokin, PA. Dates will be Friday, September 25, 2026 thru Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Clyde Peeling's Reptiland

An outdoor event featuring craft vendors, food stands, and a chance to drive or walk through a scenic area known for its covered bridges.Dates: early October, exact dates not yet available

Covered Bridge & Arts Festival

The oldest operating narrow-gauge railroad in the US and is a National Historic Landmark. Offers a 1 hour, nine-mile round trip through scenic hills and farmlands.

East Broad Top Railroad

An outdoor haunted house (not appropriate for young children). Tickets must be purchased, all proceeds benefit the local fire departments. No dates available yet.

Elysburg Haunted House

Hayrides, sorghum maze, farm animals, pumpkin patches, and mums.

The Green Barn Berry Farm

Local orchard with apple picking, fresh cider and other local produce.

Green’s Fruit Farm

A relaxing boat ride down the West Branch Susquehanna River. Suitable for all ages, tickets must be purchased.

Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat

There are numerous historic covered bridges in the area, which can be linked using GPS to create your own route (or you can pick just one to go see up close). Historic Cogan House (aka Buckhorn) Covered Bridge. A very rural location, roughly halfway between Route 15 and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. The bridge is the oldest and longest (built in 1877 and is 94-fee long) covered bridge in Lycoming County. Clyde Campbell Road, Trout Run PA 17771. Note: open to vehicular traffic, but just beyond the road turns into private property so you will have to turn around after viewing. GPS coordinates: 41.398288,-77.200506 Historic Buttonwood Covered Bridge. Visible from Route 15 North, but there is no direct access directly from the highway. Take the exit just south of the bridge onto Route 284, the bridge will be about a mile down the road. GPS coordinates: 41.509905, -77.13009 Historic Frazier (aka Lairdsville or Moreland) Covered Bridge. Near Hugesville (approximately 5 miles east on Route 118, then turn onto Covered Bridge Road). It is in a wide valley, surrounded by farms and rolling hills. GPS coordinates: 41.207247, -76.635748 Historic Forksville Covered Bridge. Located over Loyalsock Cree, the bridge is near the town of Forksville and World's End State Park. Historic Hillsgrove Covered Bridge. Just a few miles from the Forksville Bridge, more remote and requires traveling through state forest land and past streams and waterfalls. Historic Davidson/Sonestown Covered Bridge. Located just off Route 220 near the turn-off to Eagles Mere.

Kettle Creek State Park

A two day event featuring food, games, live music, children's activities and fireworks on Saturday evening. Dates: unknown at this time, most likely the third or fourth weekend in September.

Kiwanis Fall Festival at Indian Park

A free amusement park (free parking and free entry) open on weekends in October for "Hallo-Fun" weekends that are kid friendly. The grounds are decorated, there are special Halloween attractions, games, and many of the rides are operating (must by tickets to ride rides). Dates: Fridays 1700-2100, Saturdays 1400-2100, and Sundays 1200-1700

Knoebels Amusement Resort

Approximately a 2 hour 20 minute drive from Montoursville. The area has a blend of Amish culture, history, and family friendly attractions. *Experience Amish Country*Activities available include: take a traditional horse and buggy ride along country roads or visiting an Amish Farm and House on a guided tour. *History and Museums*Places of interest include: Lancaster Central Market (the countries oldest continuously operating public farmers' market established in 1730), President James Buchanan's Wheatland, Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and Historic Rock Ford. *Family Fun and Entertainment*Activities include: Strasburg Rail Road, Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park (weekends only in October), Sight and Sound Theaters (Bible stories brought to life through large-scale live theater productions), Turkey Hill Experience (create your own ice cream flavor), and Wolf Sanctuary of PA.

Lancaster, PA

A 70 minute, round-trip narrated ride (both open-air and enclosed cars are available) through the Lehigh Gorge State Park.

Lycoming Arts in Williamsport hosts art gallery receptions in October. The events are free to attend. Dates and exact locations are not known at this time.

State park known for it's network of extensive hiking trails and waterfalls. Approximately a 45 minute drive from Montoursville or 1 hour drive from Shamokin.

Ricketts Glen State Park

America's oldest operating railroad with steam locomotives and various classes of service, including dining and first-class options. Travels through the Amish countryside.
